How the Commission Process Works
- Initial Consultation & Concept Fill out the inquiry form below with your desired dimensions, preferred colour preferences, and any inspirational references or photos of the room where the piece will hang. Please note: at this time I am only doing commissions of drawings without figures.
- Proposal & Deposit I will follow up within 2–3 business days with a tailored proposal detailing price options, size and framing specifications, and an estimated completion timeline. To secure your slot on my calendar, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required.
- Colour Palette & Sketch Approval Before starting on the drawing, I will share sketches to make sure we are aligned on the mood, energy, and overall direction of the piece.
- Creation & Progress Updates Work begins in my Parker Street studio! I will share photos mid-process so you can watch your piece evolve.
- Turnaround Time: Most custom drawings take 4 to 8 weeks from deposit to delivery, depending on size and my studio schedule.
- Final Artwork & Delivery Once the drawing is ready the remaining 50% balance is due. Your custom piece will be safely packed for local pickup at my studio in Vancouver, BC, or professionally shipped worldwide.
- Returns & Refunds: Because commissions are tailored specifically for you, the initial 50% deposit is non-refundable once materials are purchased and work has begun.
Costs
Pricing for custom original drawings on paper reflects the complexity, scale, and materials required. Below are general starting estimates and are unframed:
- Small (9″ × 12″): $400 CAD
- Medium (11″x14″): $500 CAD
- Large (16″ × 20″ – 18″ × 24″): $1000 CAD – $1400 CA.
Framing
Proper framing completes the piece and protects your investment over time. Framing costs are also calculated based on size and options.
- Black or White Wood Frames:I offer custom solid wood frames in White or Black with or without matting.
- Included in Framed Quotes:Framed pieces arrive fully assembled with heavy-duty hanging hardware installed.
- Client-Sourced Framing:If you prefer to work directly with your own framer, all canvases are finished with clean painted edges (1.5″ gallery depth) so they look complete hung with or without a frame.
Shipping
Shipping costs are calculated separately based on destination and package dimensions. Works on paper can be shipped unframed, flat or safely rolled in a tube, ready for matting and custom glass framing by your local framer.
