In these intense times we are living in we need art more than ever, don’t you think? So come to the Eastside Culture Crawl and feast your eyes on all of the talent that we have in this city. The Crawl runs from November 20th to 23rd and the opening hours are 5pm to 10pm on Thursday & Friday and 11am to 6pm on Saturday & Sunday. Best of all the Crawl is free and kids are very welcome.
I’m thrilled to be showing my work in our studio along with my husband, Roger Mahler’s large scale abstract drawings https://culturecrawl.ca/artists/rmahler , Pauline Tang’s https://yellowtang.tumblr.com/ whimsical illustrations, and Carol Mayer’s lovely paintings https://culturecrawl.ca/artists/cemart.
When to visit
If you’re wondering when to come to the Crawl here are a few tips. If you’d prefer a party atmosphere then Friday night and Saturday afternoon are for you. If you prefer a quieter/calmer atmosphere then come on Thursday night, Sunday or from 11am to 1pm on Saturday.
Directions to our studio
My studio is in suite 111 at Parker Street Studios at 1000 Parker St. Studio access is from George St at Napier St. When you enter the building take an immediate left (by immediate if you’ve taken more than 5 steps without turning left you’ve gone too far) and you’ll find my studio at the end of the hallway on the left. The building is a bit of a rabbit warren so if you get lost there are maps on the walls throughout the building. You’ll find my name & studio in the bottom right corner on the map of the first floor.
Parker Street Studios is a hub for the Crawl with over 100 artists and craftspeople to visit. There are food trucks outside in case you get hungry looking at everyone’s amazing work.
Parking
Parking during the Crawl can be difficult. Street parking is free in the neighbourhood if you’re lucky enough to find a spot.
Payment
I can take payment with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Interac, Google Pay, cash and Apple Pay.
Who else to visit during the Crawl?
The Crawl has over 500 people opening their studios to the public. A few people to recommend visiting in our studio building are my neighbours in studio 108 are Courtney Caroline and her delicious food paintings and Samira Sukhatme and her beautiful neon landscapes as well as Penny Eisenberg in studio 336 and Fiona Ackerman in studio 344.
Be sure not to miss the Mergatroid building around the corner from us at 975 Vernon Drive. At the Mergatroid you’ll find glass blowing, lots of amazing potters like the amazing Dahlhaus & Eikcam Ceramics, Bronsino and her gorgeous handmade and zero waste leather bags and the incredible painters Lisa Ochowycz, Krista Johnson & MA Tateishi.
Hope all this info is helpful! Hope to see you in my studio this weekend!
